T. Powell Gaines, President and owner of Tifton Physical Soil Testing Lab, Inc. In charge of overall aspects of running the lab, responsible for the physical facility, staffing the lab with adequate equipment and qualified personnel; knows all the laboratory procedures conducted in the laboratory; writes up and reviews all of the test reports; serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the laboratory; supervises and trains the Technical Manager and Quality Manager. The President must possess at least a B.S. in Physics, Chemistry, Agronomy, Soil Science, Horticulture, Turf Science, or a closely related science, or have ten years experience in laboratory management or in the turf industry.

Knowledgeable in public relations, office management, accounting, and bookkeeping. Has exceptional relationship skills with customers on the telephone and in person. Proficient in all types of office equipment, including knowledge of computer programs and software. Can work independently and without direct supervision.
